Mas talvez apenas agora é que realmente faz sentido para mim escrever o que será o meu primeiro statement!&lt;br /&gt;Be loose. Be happy. Be real. Alguns dos conselhos que retirei de um texto encontrado na net: writing your artist's statement. É estranho pensar em como na minha geração, a geração da televisão, da massificação dos computadores, da Internet se formam as opiniões e os conceitos, as ideais e os valores. Vivendo numa era em que os opinion-makers nos invadem por todos os lados, faz-me pensar que tudo o que acreditamos é resultado de uma mescla de opiniões formadas por outros, para nós, para mim.&lt;br /&gt;Como é que isso se reflecte no processo artístico? E quais a vantagens e desvantagens dessa assemblage?&lt;br /&gt;O meu processo artístico e criativo é claramente reflexo dessa assemblage, não sendo isso vantajoso ou desvantajoso, é apenas uma condição, um paradigma. Paradigma esse que reúno ou tento reunir no trabalho que produzo: a História de Arte, a minha formação Académica, os artistas que conheço, os trabalhos que admiro, as fotografias documentativas das performances da década de 70 que nunca poderei ver, os autores que li e leio… eu sou tudo isto e fui programada desta forma! (risos)&lt;br /&gt;Mais do que em evolução ou progresso, acredito que o território artístico opera por aprofundamento e por radicalização, por deslocação, insistência ou disrupção das regras, conforme as circunstâncias criativas ou respectivos contextos.&lt;br /&gt;Neste momento passam-me inúmeros pensamentos e memórias que vêm ao de cima, na cabeça. Reflicto sobre o texto, de uma maneira formal e percebo que está a tornar-se uma assemblage! É um processo de pensamento e acção que me é intrínseco e com certeza reflecte subtilmente a estrutura de escrita de pensadores estruturalistas como também de Peggy Phelan, que costuma falar, escrevendo, com ela própria de uma maneira tão deliciosamente informal.&lt;br /&gt;REVOLUÇÃO pela REVELAÇÃO.&lt;br /&gt;O que me atrai na fotografia e mesmo na performance é a possibilidade de seleccionar um instante como se fosse um sempre e anular assim a temporalidade, transformando-a em zero.&lt;br /&gt;Um tempo fora do tempo.&lt;br /&gt;Interessa-me explorar essa capacidade de conectar tempos distantes com o presente, rompendo com uma representação linear do tempo. Evocar um universo clássico, mitológico ou épico no mesmo tempo do universo contemporâneo, tecnológico que me envolve.&lt;br /&gt;Representar o tempo? A representação do tempo nalguns temas pictóricos, como as naturezas mortas, desempenha um papel fundamental. Este género pictórico e fotográfico era denominado inicialmente, por meados do séc.XVII, por termos que não falavam nada de “natureza” nem de “morta”.&lt;br /&gt;Termos como “Vie coyce” em flamengo, “stillstehende sache” em alemão ou “oggetti di fema” em italiano foram substituídos por outros que se tornariam definitivos, como o holandes “still-leven”, o alemão “still-leben” e o inglês “still-life”. Apenas em Itália, França e Portugal se diz “natura morta”, “nature morte”, “natureza morta”. Mas de facto não se trata de “objectos imóveis” , mas antes de “coisas que ficaram paradas num instante. A vida parada num instante. Por outras palavras, não estaremos perante objectos imóveis ou estáticos, se essas coisas puderem ser substituídas pelo termo “vida” que, em si mesma, é movimento. Imóvel é, antes, o instante, o tempo da representação.&lt;br /&gt;A morte, tanto a palavra como o acontecimento, é uma fotografia, uma fotografia que se fotografa- uma fotografia que se produz como suspensão da realidade e seus referentes. A fotografia, tal com a memória, é o cadáver de uma experiência.&lt;br /&gt;Eu a fotografia, a fronteira entre a vida e a morte, eu a fotografia sou morte!&lt;br /&gt;Não obstante, falando como morte, a fotografia não pode ser morte nem ser ela mesma: à vez, viva e morta, abre a possibilidade da nossa existência no tempo.&lt;br /&gt;REFLEXÃO versus INTERVENÇÃO.&lt;br /&gt;Este binómio caracteriza a essência da minha prática artística e sobre este princípio gostaria de marcar a minha subcultura.&lt;br /&gt;Na minha subcultura valorizo um trabalho que se pode considerar relativamente autónomo, onde tento traçar uma estratégica de trabalho como artista independente, onde me represento a mim mesma, uso os meus métodos de produção, faço acções autónomas em feiras de arte e bienais questionando assim o meu papel de jovem artista e reflectindo sobre o papel de um jovem artista na sociedade. Na minha subcultura tenciono subverter o conformismo instalado no processo artístico que passa por acabar a escola, arranjar uma galeria e trabalhar nesse e para esse subsistema. Acredito que o meu papel como artista em inicio de profissão passa por reverter essas tendências, essa inércia intelectual, que se reflecte na prática artistica portuguesa da minha geração. Sim, um projecto de prática artística ambicioso, até utópico, mas sobretudo consciente: falo da minha subcultura. As a resident artist in the cultural center Mains d'Oeuvres (2003­/2005) near Paris I realised performance with participations of groups of people. The exhibition "Centrifugeuse" around the idea of using the motor ring as structure for a video experiment. The project was based on a time for visit and observation of different sites after what were organised performances connected to an exhibition. In 2003, I was invited by the school of fine­ art of Rueil ­Malmaison(France) to produce a new video project (sortie) inspired by the research of Edward T. Hall and the sociologist Erving Goffman. Latter I developed this project in Budapest (Cso). In 2006 I developed the project Order that follow this investigation about groups and social experiment. A residência passa por um convite e uma proposta a um grupo de artistas tendo como princípio algumas directrizes: trabalhar o lugar da imagem no ecrã e por sua vez o lugar do ecrã no espaço, seja este expositivo, social, político e, se quisermos lúdico e didáctico (apesar de nesta versão do MÓNITOR não existir trabalho agregado a estes dois últimos adjectivos, resumindo-se a uma problemática central sobre a construção da imagem na sua deambulação analógica/digital ou material/imaterial).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Em colaboração com o espaço PêSSEGOpráSEMANA, respeitando a tradição do MÓNITOR I realizado em Março de 2005, apresentamos o resultado de conversas, encontros, sintonizações que naturalmente definiram um mesmo comprimento de onda. (Anteciparte 2006): um vídeo é difundido simultaneamente em sete ecrãs diferentes; a montagem foi inspirada em stands de venda de televisões em que por um lado se evidenciam as diferentes texturas e qualidades dos ecrãs, por outro é criado um coro ou uma “dança”.&lt;br /&gt;A típica pergunta agressiva do cinema americano “Are you talking to me?” é dirigida aqui aos ecrãs que nos tentam transmitir as mais incríveis informações nos momentos menos oportunos.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Estou a ver o que queres dizer e Oh I see...I see what you mean&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;Estes dois dípticos, são stills do vídeo Are you talking to me? em que imagens de gráficos de voz filmadas de um ecrã pc alternam com a frase “Estou a ver o que queres dizer” em português, francês e inglês.
